I am a scientist-executive with over 20 years of experience bridging the gap between complex biological innovation and commercial reality. My career has been defined by a dual focus: advancing rigorous scientific inquiry while simultaneously driving the revenue and relationships necessary to bring those innovations to the world.
I do not view business and science as separate entities. Instead, I approach them through the lens of "Wu Li" - Chinese for physics having a literal translation of "patterns of organic energy". In a company, this energy is its culture and operational flow. My role is to act as a catalyst for this energy, removing friction and aligning teams to create a unified, high-performing system.
My approach to business consulting is directly informed by my training as a biophysicist and my postdoctoral work in cryo-electron microscopy and tomography.
In the laboratory, I pioneered methods to visualize the invisible. I used advanced image processing and multivariate data analysis to reconstruct 3D protein structures from noisy, low-contrast electron micrographs, mapping molecular interactions within the chaos of a cellular volume.
I apply this same analytical rigor to business strategy. Just as I resolved high-resolution structures from complex biological data, I use statistical programming (R, Python, SQL) and data visualization to resolve clear market strategies from noisy business intelligence. I don't just guess at market trends; I map them with the precision of a structural biologist, ensuring that decisions are data-informed and statistically valid.
Beyond the data, I possess a deep understanding of the human element in the life sciences industry. Sales are not made on specs alone; "features and benefits are just a justification of an emotional decision". True success comes from understanding the client’s desired results—not just selling them a tool.
Drawing on over 15 years of selling analytical instruments and CDMO services, I specialize in:
Global Sales Leadership: I have managed international distributor networks across Europe, Asia, and South America, developing training materials and hosting technical workshops to translate complex technology into local market success.
The "Alley-Oop" Hand-off: I design sales and project management workflows that function like a seamless basketball play—ensuring the transfer of information from Sales to Operations is flawless, delightful, and builds long-term client trust.
Consultative Problem Solving: I avoid the trap of "seeing every problem as a nail requiring a hammer". My diverse background allows me to match the right solution to the right problem, whether it involves capital equipment, consumables, or service contracts.
I have spent the majority of my career in the high-stakes environment of start-ups and innovators, where the failure rate is high and resources are scarce. I am an expert in "stopping the bleeding"—pausing to evaluate a failing plan, modifying the strategy, and resuming execution with renewed focus.
Whether you are navigating a pre-IND pivot or scaling a global sales team, I offer the stability of a veteran who has worn every hat—from bench scientist to Vice President.
